By now, everyone has heard that Justin Bieber was arrested in Florida early yesterday morning for DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license.

Bieber's BAC was .04 which is below the limit for drivers age 21 and older but because Justin is only 19, his limit in Florida is .02. Ignoring the publicity angle here, Bieber made several mistakes this morning when dealing with the Miami Beach Police.
First, he admitted to not only drinking but smoking marijuana and taking prescription drugs too! The police do not need any help gathering evidence against DUI suspects. All talking did was help the prosecutors build an even better case against him. Second, Justin failed the "attitude test." He was rude, belligerent and uncooperative. His behavior earned him the resisting arrest charge. That kind of behavior also looks terrible to a jury.
Finally, Bieber obviously lied about where he had been. According to the police report, Bieber told the police he was returning from recording in a studio when he was stopped. That's not a great decision when you are one of the most recognizable people in the world and there are dozens of pictures of you at a night club right before the arrest. A savvy prosecutor would claim the lie shows that Bieber knew he was guilty and was trying to get out of trouble. If Bieber wants to fight these charges, he'll need an excellent DUI lawyer to overcome some of his mistakes.
